Big stuff going on in the world this week:
A passenger jet was shot down over Ukraine killing almost 300, mostly Dutch. Pro-Russian rebels and Russia say it was Ukraine but the rest of the world suspects Russia and the rebels they support are to blame. This further pits Russia against Europe in an already tense proxy war.
Israel launched a ground invasion of Gaza after days of air strikes in response to hundreds of Hamas rockets started coming daily that reached far into Israel. 700+ have been killed already. Many say this is as big or worse than the last war in the region.
U.S. border towns are experiencing a huge surge of minors entering from Latin America. Facilities are overwhelmed, many cities are refusing to house the children, and Texas has even activated National Guard troops to assist the border patrol.
