I Slammed my finger in the door. I mean I got it really good! Saw stars and everything. But being a busy stay-at-home mom, I don’t have time for minor mishaps. So I say a little swear under my breath and keep on moving. Well 2 hours later I can see (through my polish) my nail has turned purple as well as the bottom of my finger, and it just will not stop throbbing. I make an appointment for a few hour later with the doctor. The office is packed, our 4:40 appointment finally lets us into a room at 6 pm. I’ve got all 3 girls with me. They are being good, but if you are a parent you know how stressful a backed Drs.. office is with kids, then throw on top every time you turn around either they or you are running said damaged finger into something. I am frazzled, hungry, tired, and in pain. Doc pokes a whole in my finger nail to release the pressure at which point blood starts spurting out like a water gun. It hurts, and it’s gross. I turned a nice shade of paste, and the doc made me lie down and told me not to pass out, there was nobody there to watch my kids. Two minutes later I recover, gather my children and head home. My husband is home. I dish up dinner for girls and then go and lie down. A little bit later I hear girls telling dad about it and using words like “cool” , “awesome” and “neat” to explain the whole poking to their dad. Yuck!!!

Ok that is pretty gross. Says something about your girls though that they didn’t freak out with you. Doctors all someday
