Dear Santa,
Now Santa, you know how much I like surprises. And most of the time I really do! This year you really out did yourself. Not in a good way either. Three out of five of the H family got the flu. Not cool! Even one of my cats managed to puke in front of the Christmas Tree. I’m not sure how you managed to do it, but next year I am requesting a specific gift instead of saying “I really liked to be surprised.”
It was the weirdest experience to have my kids calm on Christmas Morning. I have never experienced anything like it! (Lets not even mention the fact that I am a sympathy puker.) It was sad. Sass just carried around her favorite Christmas present a Nerf bow and arrow. Sultana put on her new Super Girl hat and quietly built 2 new Lego sets. Oh, and Shush was the worst. She hardly even played with her new toys. She finally perked up at the last minute and had Daddy build her Frozen Vanity. If there was any way that I could have taken their illness away from them I would have. But I was also one of the infirm. Shush, Sass and myself were the sick ones. Sultana was such a good sport. I am not sure how she avoided it. Or maybe she will be getting it soon? I hope not.
Last year I was lodging a complaint against Auntie for being attacked by the Flutterby Fairy. I would gladly be attacked by that stupid fairy if it meant my kids felt better.
Next Year! Next year will be better.
Merry Christmas Santa, and a Happy New Year! I will appreciate the blessing of my kids overactivity and health and vitality. I have learned my lesson.
Sincerely,
H of Beyond the Sippy Cup
