My mom and sister-in-law have been making cookies for the last 3 years on Black Friday. I know to some that sounds like blasphemy, not being out and catching all the good deals. I HATE shopping from Thanksgiving till Christmas. I live a mile away from a busy mall and I have to fight traffic anytime I want to leave my house. Anyhow, I digress.
This year I wanted to participate. My brother (who should be inducted into saint-hood) said I could bring my kids, and he would entertain my 3 and his 3 too. All so mom and me and sister-in-law and new-step-sister and almost new-step-sister-in-law (yes, that is a real person) could bake cookies. It was so much fun. And now I shall go forth and spread cookies throughout the neighborhood. It just feels good to have that girly bonding time. I sometimes think that grandma had it right, when she had bridge night once a week with her friends. There really is something to it!
