When my Mother asked me what I wanted to do with family while I visited this Christmas, I had this nostalgic flashback to when I was a kid and my parents played ‘Pictionary’ and ‘Outburst’ with their friends… so I said I wanted to do Game-night. I wasn’t sure how many of our relatives would be up for it, but it turned out to be a total blast. We started with pizza lunch (with lots of desserts) for lunch and as I expected (and hoped) I was able to rope in most of my generation (a few couldn’t be drug away from football). After SEVEN hours of game play including ‘Boggle’, ‘Outburst’, ‘ Scategories’, ‘What’s Yours Like’, we finally called it quits after we used every card in ‘Apples to Apples’. I haven’t laughed that much in one day in YEARS. Plus I know a ton more about my cousins (as adults) than I ever would have by mingling over pizza alone.
Special thanks go to the two Grandmas who helped corral the littlest ones present (my Mr. C and his slightly older cousin who was a great playmate). I’m definitely doing this again soon.
