I went out for a girls night last Friday! We say a funny movie called “Mom’s Night Out”. Total chick flick, but so funny! We went out for desert after, and we started talking and telling our mommy stories. You all know I have 3 girls, A. has 4 kids ages 8, 6, 2, and 4 weeks. A2. has one baby 6 months old. Up until this point all the tales that I have shared on the blog with you have been of my own family. But this story is too good not to share. *I got A’s permission to share.* So,we are sitting in Ruby Tuesday’s with our deserts, and swapping our stories. When A says “Did I tell you my two year old stole a cupcake yesterday?” We say no and we want to hear all about this because she is shaking with laughter! So A continues “I had made cupcakes the night before, and as I was getting the 2 oldest ready for school the two year old asks for a cupcake. I tell him after we get your sisters to school and we have some breakfast we can have one. So we take the 2 oldest to school, and I come home and the baby needs to be fed. Before I can even feed the baby, said 2 year old is licking frosting off a cupcake. I take it from him set it on the counter and reiterate that we need to eat breakfast first, but before that I need to feed the baby. I then proceed to feed the baby and I hear noise in the kitchen. I get up, and that little bugger has taken the cupcake off the counter and snuck into the basement to eat it. I finished feeding baby and I just couldn’t stop thinking. And It just kept turning into a bigger and bigger deal in my head. If I don’t do something about this cupcake incident now, then when he is 16 he’s going to be out stealing cars! By this time I am done feeding baby and have him down for a nap. I go to the basement and find the boy with frosting and crumbs all over him and ask him if he ate it. He says yes. I tell him he was bad for taking it and he will not be getting anymore cupcakes today. His little lip quivers and he says ‘no ore?’ I say no more. and he cries and says he’s sorry”
Now at this point in the story I am cracking up laughing. (I’m good friends with her) and I asked her how she made a cupcake into the gateway for grand theft auto? because now I can’t stop laughing! A2 is laughing too! I tell A that is entirely too much thought into that situation. But I am proud of her for taking care of the issue.
I just think it is great that I can be friends with women that have such different thought patterns than myself. And that we can laugh at ourselves and one another!
