Always wash your hands before you eat, especially with a toddler

My son and I were sitting quietly eating our chili last night at dinner when he became very adamant about taking my spoon from me.  When I gave it to him, he first worked very diligently to fill it up with a big scoop of chili himself.  I thought he was going to feed me a bite, as we often play, when he then took my hand, turned it over, and dumped the entire spoonful into it.  I tried very hard not to laugh as I contemplated what on earth would have made him do this.  I was doing pretty well until he then leaned towards my hand, lifted it up, and dumped the contents into his own mouth.  Boy, I’m glad I wash my hands before we eat!
